What details help?

All optional. Mention what you know.

  • What must be lifted. What it is and roughly how heavy, if you know.
  • Reach and height. How far the load is from where a crane can stand, and how high it must go.
  • Space to set up. Room for the crane, overhead lines, and whether the ground is firm.
  • Where and when. The town, access to the site, and when the work can be done.

How Headcore helps with this lift

Keep your usual crane company in the mix. Headcore helps you find additional companies that can do this work.

  1. 01

    Describe the lift

Start in your own words: what, roughly how heavy and where. You review the request before anything is posted.

  2. 02

Reach companies that do this work

Companies that do mobile crane hire and lifting work and serve your area see the job. Each decides for itself whether to respond.

  3. 03

    Choose who to speak with

Compare how they would approach it, reveal your company only to the ones you choose, and deal with them directly.

Before you hire a crane

  • The load

What it is, roughly how heavy, and its size. If you do not know the weight, the nameplate details or a drawing help the supplier.

  • Reach and height

How far the load is from where the crane can stand, and how high it must go. Reach matters as much as weight when a crane is chosen.

  • Setting up

Room for the crane and its outriggers, firm ground, and any overhead lines nearby. Some lifts need a road closure or a permit.

  • Papers for the lift

Many sites ask for a lifting plan, the crane's inspection papers or the operator's certificate. Say what yours needs so suppliers can respond to it.

Questions buyers ask

What does it cost to post a request?

Posting a request is free. A supplier pays one token when it decides your request is worth answering. What you agree about the work is between you and the supplier.

Who sees my request?

Companies that do this specific work, within reach of your site. They see the job. Whether they also see your company name is your choice: you can stay anonymous until you pick who to talk to.

What if nobody responds?

Your request reaches companies that do this work within minutes. Each decides for itself whether to respond, so we cannot promise responses. If the work cannot wait, contact your usual suppliers as well.

Do I need to know what size crane I need?

No. Describe the load, its weight if you know it, and how far and how high it must go. Suppliers work out the crane from that and say what they would bring.

Should I ask for a crane truck or a mobile crane?

A crane truck carries the load and lifts it on and off. A mobile crane sets up on site for a heavier or higher lift. If you are not sure, describe the job and suppliers will say which suits it.

Can I ask for a lifting plan or certificates?

Yes. Say what you need, such as a lifting plan or the crane's inspection papers. Suppliers say in their response whether they can provide it, and you choose who to speak with.

Does Headcore hire out equipment?

No. Headcore is a matching system: it puts your request in front of companies that do this work, and you deal with the supplier directly. Keep your usual suppliers; use Headcore when they cannot help, or when the job is outside what they do.
