What details help?
All optional. Mention what you know.
- The machine. TLB, excavator, grader, roller or tipper, and roughly what size, if you know.
- With or without an operator. Whether you need an operator, fuel and transport to site, or the machine on its own.
- How long. Days or weeks, and the date you need it on site.
- The site. The town, access for a truck or lowbed, and the ground conditions.

Plant hire companies that serve your area see the request. Each decides for itself whether to respond.

Choose who to speak with
Compare how they would approach it, reveal your company only to the ones you choose, and deal with them directly.
Before you hire plant
Wet or dry hire
Wet hire comes with an operator, and often fuel. Dry hire is the machine on its own. Say which you want, and who supplies the diesel.
What decides the cost
The machine and its size, how long you need it, the operator, and getting it to site. Hire is often charged by the hour or the day, sometimes with a minimum.
Getting it to site
A larger machine usually arrives on a lowbed, so say how a truck reaches the site and where it can offload.
The ground and the work
Soil or rock, wet or dry, and what the machine must do: dig trenches, load trucks or level a platform. That decides which machine suits the job.
Questions buyers ask
What does it cost to post a request?
Posting a request is free. A supplier pays one token when it decides your request is worth answering. What you agree about the work is between you and the supplier.
Who sees my request?
Companies that do this specific work, within reach of your site. They see the job. Whether they also see your company name is your choice: you can stay anonymous until you pick who to talk to.
What if nobody responds?
Your request reaches companies that do this work within minutes. Each decides for itself whether to respond, so we cannot promise responses. If the work cannot wait, contact your usual suppliers as well.
What is the difference between wet and dry hire?
Wet hire means the machine comes with an operator, and often fuel. Dry hire is the machine on its own, and your own operator runs it. Say which you need in your request.
Can I ask for a machine with an operator?
Yes. Say whether you need an operator, fuel and transport to site. Suppliers respond to the job as you describe it, and you agree the terms with the one you choose.
Who brings the machine to site?
Say in your request whether you need it delivered. Many hire companies bring a machine on a lowbed or drive it to site, and some charge for that separately. Suppliers say in their response how they would do it.
What if the job runs longer than planned?
Say in your request whether the dates might move. Extending the hire is agreed between you and the supplier you choose, not with Headcore.
Does Headcore hire out equipment?
No. Headcore is a matching system: it puts your request in front of companies that do this work, and you deal with the supplier directly. Keep your usual suppliers; use Headcore when they cannot help, or when the job is outside what they do.
Start with what you know.
A sentence or two is enough. Nothing reaches suppliers until you review and post it.
